Candidate Questionnaire​:1. What inspired you to seek this position?As a product of blue collar parents and the 1st in my family to obtaining a college education I firmly believe that supporting livable wages, education opportunities, good health care and better skill initiatives transformational changes in our communities and cities can occur. As a City Council member I have championed those benefits, and will continue to champion these initiatives prioritizing all Pasadena residents and small businesses so that all have the best opportunities to succeed.2. What qualifications, experience, and leadership skills prepare you for this role, including crisis response, crime prevention, financial literacy, and public communication?In my career I have managed federal funds in assisting economic development, disaster relief and grant management for public entities such as Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery Counties. This experience has not only helped me improve my Pasadena District, but have also allow me to help lead Pasadena into a greater and better future.
Since being in office, I has led initiatives resulting in $5.9 million in waterline improvements, $9.9 million in sewer rehabilitations, $7.3 in reconstruction projects, $150k in water well improvements, and have created various scholarships opportunities for students in our community .3. What are your top priorities for the first 100 days if elected, and which city policies or initiatives will you continue or change?Infrastructure improvements
Economic re-investment
Increase wages for employee
Develop homeless assistance programs.

How do you plan to embrace the city of Pasadena, including uniting City Council, foster collaboration, and ensure transparency in your leadership while effectively representing all Pasadena constituents?Intentional relationship building by continuing to establish coffee with the cops, while pioneering stakeholder engagement meeting and a City Council open house, Coffee with Council.5. What actions will you take to increase the number of city projects awarded to small and local businesses?Pushing stakeholder engagement meetings with local business to make opportunities readily available locally, as well as helping small businesses walk through the process for bidding for local jobs. As well as allocating a certain amount of jobs for local businesses.6. What is your vision for Pasadena’s economic development, including plans for the convention center, city-owned land, and infrastructure improvements to encourage business investment?The future of Pasadena is re-development. My vision for this future is for the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to actually lead these initiatives with tactful development plans, market research and stakeholder feedback. So that as a city we can push, invest and attract firms that will assisting in a brighter future of infrastructure improvements and encourage business investment.7. Business-friendly policies rank as the number one priority for chamber members. What are your plans to streamline the permitting process and improve ordinances to attract and support new businesses while also improving flexibility for development in Pasadena?My goal is for Pasadena to become known as a Builder/Developer friendly city. I will achieve this by leading initiatives investing in improved technology that would streamline various application processes, investing in more training for current departments and holding stakeholder meetings so that our local stakeholders have an input in driving the direction we need to go in as a city.8. What are your plans for improving and maintaining Pasadena’s infrastructure, including roads, sewage, drainage, water supply, high speed internet, and the power grid?My priority as a councilman my priority has been deferred maintenance waterlines, roads, sewage, drainage, water supply, and the power grid. I have and will continue to champion initiatives that will invest in areas that need this the most. Developing a grade and priority system as to focus on the areas most in need.9. How will you leverage modern technology to streamline city operations, improve efficiency, and prioritize long-term growth? What specific innovations or technology solutions will you implement to enhance public services, economic development, and infrastructure management in Pasadena?Modern technology will be a focus so that we may have our city catch up to all modern cities. Streamlining permitting process, board applications, proposal postings and reviews. This resulting in an improvement and enhancement of all our public services, economic development, and infrastructure management for our great city.10. Business and citizens alike require a secure city in which to work and live. What is your experience and plan for public safety for Pasadena?Public safety is a priority, I intend to lead with my commitment to keep Pasadena safe and affordable. Under my representation Pasadena will become a City of choice.11. How can the city ensure adequate healthcare infrastructure, including mental health care, hospitals, doctors, and accountability in healthcare services?Leadership that prioritizes these important services is a must. To ensure the city has adequate healthcare infrastructure, including mental health care, hospitals, doctors, and accountability the leaders the community elects on May 3rd matter.12. Access to talent and workforce is the number one challenge facing Pasadena businesses. What role should the government play in workforce development, including investment in training programs and partnerships with colleges and the ISDs?Across various industries we see attracting and retaining talent and workforce is the number one challenge. This is priority for me because we want to attract and retain the best in our great city. A priority of mine is to invest in our talent and workforce by investing in them through training and certification programs, incentives and promotion for our workers with longevity, developing a career map for those who want to grown with us and partnerships with local educational institutes to make sure we have competitive offerings and variety.
